First Sunday of Lent (2/22/26)

Lent

Today is the First Sunday in the Lenten Season.  Lent is that time in our liturgical year designated for self reflection.  It is a time that we are preparing ourselves for the Resurrection of Christ for Easter and the Easter season which will carry us through Pentecost.

Many people choose something in their lives they will give up during this part of the year.  Some give up the use of alcohol.  Others will do away with chocolate.  Our Roman Catholic brothers and sisters will do away with eating meat on Fridays for Lent.  To give something tempting up for Lent is certainly admirable but what if we added things to our lives as well?

How might our lives be changed if we added to our prayer time each day?  How might our lives be changed if we added time for Bible study? How might we be changed if we added time to help others?
